In the studio

Fun and informal

My studio is in a beautiful spot, on the edge of Chacewater, just outside of Truro. I provide all the materials you need, and we will break for tea and cake in the garden, weather permitting.

What the morning is like

  • A Saturday morning

09:30 to 13:00 in the studio, with a break for tea and cake in the garden if the weather allows.

  • Everything provided

All the materials you need, including the pots to decorate. Bring nothing.

  • Any level

Suitable for all levels. You do not have to have any pottery experience, although many potters attend.

  • Your pots, glazed

I will glaze your pots and post them to you for a small charge, or you can collect them.

Stencil and slip

I will demonstrate the techniques I use to decorate the surface of my pots with slip — liquid clay stained with colour — and hand-cut stencils. Then you will cut your own stencils and decorate your pots with your own design.

The next date

What people wrote afterwards

I just wanted to say what a wonderful time we had today. We both enjoyed it so much and can't wait to see the final pieces. Thank you for your time and generosity in sharing your skills with us. Also your cake was amazing! Truly delicious.
Thank you so much for yesterday, it was the most lovely experience for us and we all enjoyed it immensely. I think the format you planned was great, leaving room for our input and injecting your insights where needed. I think you offer a lovely experience for people in your beautiful surroundings.

Both are published without a name, exactly as Jana publishes them.

A workshop just for your group

If you are a group and would like a workshop just for you, please get in touch. I can accommodate up to five people, and will try to find a time that suits you.
